Gazette uprooted by multi-religion prayer room
The University of Western’s Gazette newspaper is being threatened with relocation after the University Students’ Council decided that their facilities might better be used as a multi-religion prayer room. Gazette management learned that their offices would be interchanged with the USC’s composing office, a major downgrade from the 1900 ft space in which they currently reside. The current multi-religion prayer room was opened in 2010, but only two years later, Students’ Council deemed it inadequate for its intended use. However, questions remain as to where the complaints originated. Multiple leaders of religious groups have come out and asked the Students’ Council to reconsider their decision, saying that they were unaware of any issues.
