Region of Waterloo asks public for help in naming LRT
Naming efforts for Region of Waterloo’s future light rail transit (LRT) system have culminated in the shortlist of three brand names released for public input this month: Arc, Ion, and Trio. The names put forth are tentative finalists that came from the work by St. Jacobs Ontario marketing consultant firm Quarry Integrated Communications.
Public feedback on the branding of the rapid transit system will be gathered online from Jan. 8 to 18 at a link accessible from the Region of Waterloo’s rapid transit website. Through public engagement during the branding process, the Region hopes to assure a decision that best reflects the sentiments of diverse stakeholders.
An upcoming public consultation meeting will be held in Waterloo at Knox Presbyterian Church on 50 Erb Street West on Jan. 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. In Kitchener, a consultation meeting will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Jan. 15 at the University of Waterloo’s School of Pharmacy, located at 10A Victoria Street South.
