Conestoga Mall robbery suspect photo released

Waterloo regional police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man captured on a store’s surveillance camera stealing a smartphone.

At about 4 p.m. on Oct. 17, a man entered the Source store at Conestoga Mall in Waterloo and removed a smartphone from a display counter, police said.

Police said they are investigating similar recent incidents in local malls and have contacted police in Hamilton and Toronto where cell phones were taken from stores in order to verify if the incidents are related.

The suspect is described as being white, between five feet ten inches and six feet and weighing about 325 pounds.
