A student University of Windsor screamed for help and called police with a description of the suspect that attempted to rob her. The 28-year-old victim was walking to school when a robber wearing a black hood brandished a duck tape gun and tried to grab her computer bag. When the woman held on to the bag and screamed for help, the robber ran north toward a riverside park.

The University of Windsor campus police later told City of London Police they detained a 21-year-old man matching the description found of the  Assumption Park.

This week in Waterloo, a similar robbery took place while a man was walking at 12:30 a.m. at University Avenue and Westmount Road. Three men approached him, one with a weapon. The robbers took his personal items, including a mobile phone.

Waterloo Region Officers arrested two adult men and a male youth soon after. They face charges of robbery using an imitation firearm, possession of a dangerous weapon and breach of court orders.
